How does Exotel + Google’s Verified Calls work?

Exotel takes account information from GVC server
1

Exotel collects your account information – logo, name, exotel numbers & call reason to create an agent on Verified Calls server.

2

Before the customer call leg is initiated, Google’s Verified Calls server receives your – business number, the customer’s number, and the reason for calling. This information is then communicated to the customer’s Google Phone App.

GVC server gets business info and send to Google Phone App
Customer call leg connected
3

Just when the customer call leg is initiated via a connect applet or call API, the Phone App in their mobile device matches your business information (which Google received) with the incoming call data.

4

Once the matching is complete, it’s displayed as a Verified Call.

Exotel's API documentation and implementation process is extremely simple and easy to follow. There were no hassles in setting it up. We use other cloud telephony platforms as well but Exotel gets a big thumbs-up from us for their ease of use.

What impressed me the most about the Exotel team was their proactive approach to addressing potential issues before they even arise. Rather than simply reacting to problems, they make a genuine effort to understand their client's specific requirements and develop solutions to meet those needs without prompting. Their ability to anticipate customer needs is truly exceptional.

How does Google’s Verified Calls work with Exotel?

The Verified Calls API has been integrated with the Exotel Connect use case. This means all calls your business makes from the Exotel platform can be verified for the tenants that have the feature enabled.

Is it available on iOS or Apple devices?

No, Google’s Verified Calls is available via Google’s Phone app on Android, which comes pre-loaded on many Android devices in these markets.

What makes Google’s Verified Calls different from a regular Caller ID?

A Regular Called ID usually provides the registered details of the business, however they fail to communicate information further beyond that.

A Verified Caller ID by Google, on the other hand, provides:

Branding: Clearly displays the name and logo for the business to help in recognition.

Verification: The verified tick mark clearly communicates that the business is authentic, so that customers know when to pick up the phone.

Context: This goes the extra mile and gives the customers the reason why the business is calling them.

We’ve helped 6,000+ companies worldwide to simplify their business communication strategy.
